MY MELODY was withdrawn on 22.4.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter YI HAO MU (J Lloyd). Before being allowed to race again, MY MELODY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After leaving the Parade Ring and prior to the horses entering the track, G Mossé (REAL DRAGON) advised that he was feeling lightheaded and for this reason he was ordered by the Stewards to undergo an immediate medical examination. The Club’s medical officers, after conducting a full examination of Jockey Mossé, advised that he was fit to ride. On arrival at the Start, G Mossé was examined by the Club’s doctor who confirmed that Jockey Mossé was fit to fulfil his riding engagement on REAL DRAGON. Following his ride on REAL DRAGON, G Mossé was again examined by the Club’s doctor who advised that he was fit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements. G Mossé was spoken to by the Stewards regarding this incident which was the second occasion this season on which horses ridden by him had been delayed in proceeding to the Start, resulting in a significant delay to the start of the race. G Mossé was advised that the Stewards were concerned regarding the frequency of these occurrences and that he must ensure, wherever possible, that he accepts riding engagements which will not place undue stress upon him in order to fulfil his commitments. When the field was being loaded, BLOSSOM DAILY, DARMAGI and YI HAO MU, which were all having their first start in a race, proved difficult to load, resulting in a further delay to the start of this race. All three horses will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again. DARMAGI began awkwardly. YI HAO MU was slow to begin. SUPER GOODIES began awkwardly and shortly after the start raced tight between NEW KING PRAWN and RUN TO WIN. Approaching the 200 Metres, BLOSSOM DAILY, which had its head on the side and was laying in, was awkwardly placed between REAL DRAGON and SUPER GOODIES which was taken out slightly by TENDER MELODY. A veterinary inspection of REAL DRAGON after the race did not show any significant findings. EAGLE REGIMENT and SUPER GOODIES were sent for sampling.
