HAPPY WIN was withdrawn on 5.4.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter KING CREOLE (Apprentice M L Yeung). Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SLEEPCARE and PLANET were checked and NICE KING was severely checked at the start when crowded for room between MANY GAINS which shifted out and ASIAN CITRUS which, after beginning awkwardly, was taken in by WINNING STRATEGY which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. After being taken in by WINNING STRATEGY, ASIAN CITRUS was bumped heavily on the hindquarters by NICE KING, resulting in ASIAN CITRUS becoming badly unbalanced and shifting in further. As the Stewards were of the belief that there was no rider error involved in this incident, no further action was taken. For some distance approaching and passing the 800 Metres, PLANET proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied away from the heels of DR UNION. After the 800 Metres, KING CREOLE was left racing wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of PLANET and NICE KING after the race did not show any significant findings. MANY GAINS and WINNING STRATEGY were sent for sampling.
