PILLOWIN was withdrawn on 8.11.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter WORLD WAY. FUN AND FAST was withdrawn on 9.11.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter SUPREME TYCOON (C W Wong). STEEL NERVES was also withdrawn on 9.11.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (capped elbow right fore). Before being allowed to race again, PILLOWIN, FUN AND FAST and STEEL NERVES will all be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On arrival at the barriers, DIAMOND RAINBOW was examined by the Veterinary Officer who reported that it had a thick nasal discharge. Acting on the advice that DIAMOND RAINBOW was not suitable to race, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse. When parading behind the barriers, SUPREME TYCOON shifted its left front plate and stood on a nail. Acting on the Veterinary Officer’s advice that SUPREME TYCOON was lame in the left front leg, that horse was also withdrawn by order of the Stewards. For these reasons, the start of this race was delayed. Before being allowed to race again, DIAMOND RAINBOW and SUPREME TYCOON will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WORLD WAY shifted out at the start and bumped FORTUNE TOGETHER which became unbalanced. In this incident, WORLD WAY lost ground. Approaching the 1000 Metres, WORLD WAY raced in restricted room between BRILLIANT ONE and OYSTER which shifted in. Passing the 1000 Metres, JOYFUL JOYFUL was steadied away from the heels of FORTUNE TOGETHER (Apprentice K C Leung) which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice Leung was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. Near the 400 Metres, CAGA BOY was steadied when racing tight inside DR WIN which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in slightly. Approaching the 200 Metres, CAGA BOY, which had been held up for clear running, was steadied when disappointed for a run between FORTUNE TOGETHER and FIONN’S DRAGON. CAGA BOY was then not able to obtain clear running until after passing the 100 Metres. Throughout the race, TOUT VA BIEN travelled wide and without cover and over the concluding stages gave ground. A veterinary inspection of TOUT VA BIEN after the race did not show any significant findings. BRILLIANT ONE and JOYFUL JOYFUL were sent for sampling.
