AMAZING FORTUNE began awkwardly. BUMPER STRIKE and EAST OCEAN bumped at the start. BLADE FORCE was slow to begin and then after being ridden along to make up lost ground was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY PHOTO FRAME shortly after the start when that horse shifted out. MEDIC FORTUNE, which was racing to the outside of BLADE FORCE, was steadied in consequence. From outside barriers, HEADSIWIN and AMAZING VENTURE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the 1100 Metres, HEADSIWIN got its head up and shifted out when being checked away from the heels of WIN WIN FELLOWSHIP which itself was checked away from the heels of NOBLE DE BEST. For some distance passing the 1000 Metres, NOBLE DE BEST proved very difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MAKE IT. Then passing the 800 Metres, NOBLE DE BEST was checked away from the heels of MAKE IT. WIN WIN FELLOWSHIP, which was following NOBLE DE BEST, was checked away from the heels of that horse and shifted out. Rounding the Home Turn, MEDIC FORTUNE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BUMPER STRIKE. After being shifted out in the early part of the Straight in an endeavour to secure clear running, EAST OCEAN was awkwardly placed near the 100 Metres when attempting to obtain a run between CHARMGOLD and MAKE IT which shifted in slightly. Near the 200 Metres, MAKE IT shifted out and bumped BLADE FORCE which as a result became unbalanced. Between the 200 Metres and the 50 Metres, NOBLE DE BEST was not able to obtain clear running and because of this was not properly tested. Over the final 50 Metres, AMAZING VENTURE, which was closing off the race, was steadied when disappointed for clear running inside LUCKY PHOTO FRAME which shifted in slightly. Because of this, AMAZING VENTURE was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Throughout the race, BLADE FORCE travelled wide and without cover. CHARMGOLD, AMAZING FORTUNE and BLADE FORCE were sent for sampling.
