After arriving at the saddling stalls, GLITTERING had its right hind plate reset. GLITTERING was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. On jumping, FORTUNE PUG and KING CREOLE were taken back from wide barriers. Also on jumping, HONEST TREASURE stumbled, shifted in and caused some inconvenience to ARITZIA which had been slow to begin. After this, HONEST TREASURE was slow to muster speed. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, WING MASTER got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of ARITZIA. Prior to straightening, ARITZIA, which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GLITTERING, became unbalanced. At the same time, GLITTERING became unbalanced behind. For the major part of the race, GLITTERING hung out. Throughout the race, AMO travelled wide and without cover. ASIAN CITRUS and STEEL NERVES were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that STEEL NERVES had lost its right hind plate.
