KEEN FAY FAY was withdrawn on 30.3.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind). SPIRIT PATCH was also withdrawn on 30.3.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality). Before being allowed to race again, KEEN FAY FAY and SPIRIT PATCH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GOLDEN SIXTY began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of HAPPY COOPERATION. FABULOUS EIGHT began awkwardly and then lost ground when crowded for room between FAMILY LEADER and EIGHT TRIGRAMS which shifted in. From the outside barrier, JUNZI was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 950 Metres, FABULOUS EIGHT was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of EIGHT TRIGRAMS. After the 900 Metres, SPEEDY OPTIMIST was left racing wide and without cover. Making the turn after the 900 Metres, WINNERS BROTHER got its head on the side, shifted out and dipped. After this, WINNERS BROTHER, despite being ridden along to maintain its position, gave ground abruptly. As a result of WINNERS BROTHER giving ground abruptly, SONIC FIGHTER was severely checked away from the heels of that horse from near the 800 Metres until approaching the 650 Metres, resulting in SONIC FIGHTER losing a considerable amount of ground. FABULOUS EIGHT, which was racing outside SONIC FIGHTER, was inconvenienced in consequence near the 750 Metres and passing the 700 Metres was awkwardly placed close to the heels of EIGHT TRIGRAMS as a result of SONIC FIGHTER shifting out away from the heels of WINNERS BROTHER. JUNZI, which was following FABULOUS EIGHT, was awkwardly placed behind that horse after the 800 Metres and again passing the 700 Metres. After the race, H N Wong reported that WINNERS BROTHER was very reluctant to maintain its position in amongst other horses rather than having any physical issues. A veterinary inspection of WINNERS BROTHER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The racing manners of WINNERS BROTHER were considered unacceptable. WINNERS BROTHERS must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards in amongst horses around a bend prior to being permitted to race again. A veterinary inspection of SONIC FIGHTER and FABULOUS EIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GOLDEN SIXTY and SHINING ACE were sent for sampling.
