LIBERATOR began awkwardly and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed. Approaching the 1200 Metres, RAINBOW CHIC got its head up on a number of occasions and proved difficult to settle when awkwardly placed close to the heels of OUTDOOR PEGASUS and racing tight inside SAME WORLD. Passing the 500 Metres and again making the Home Turn, BUSINESS AS USUAL became unbalanced after racing tight inside LUCKY FOREVER which got its head on the side and shifted in slightly. Throughout the race, PURE CHAMPION travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that RAINBOW CHIC was found to have sustained a small wound to the right hind outside bulb of the heel. A veterinary inspection of LITTLE DREAMS and BUSINESS AS USUAL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SAME WORLD and RAINBOW CHIC were sent for sampling.
