D DAY SUPER was withdrawn prior to Race 1 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever). Before being allowed to race again, D DAY SUPER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CARE FREE ELEGANCE was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, RED COURAGE, which was being ridden along, raced tight between BRILLIANT PROPOSAL which shifted out and CREATIVE UNION which was taken in by WELL DONE. In this incident, RED COURAGE became unbalanced. Despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, WELL DONE was not able to muster speed and throughout the race travelled wide and without cover before giving ground in the Straight. Making the first turn after the 600 Metres, CARE FREE ELEGANCE, which was racing greenly, got its head on the side and shifted out towards the hindquarters of RED COURAGE. After the 200 Metres, MR AWARD was taken in by BRILLIANT PROPOSAL which shifted in under pressure. Approaching the 100 Metres, CARE FREE ELEGANCE (Apprentice K C Ng), which was having its first race start, shifted out abruptly away from the heels of DRAGIMOVA which was giving ground. As a consequence, CARE FREE ELEGANCE shifted out across the rightful running of JUN HAO which was checked when crowded for rom inside MISTER MARC which became unbalanced after being bumped by JUN HAO. As the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was attributable to CARE FREE ELEGANCE’s racing manners rather than any carelessness exhibited by Apprentice K C Ng, no further action was taken. Throughout the race, CREATIVE UNION travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of WELL DONE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GOLDEN BAUHINIA and RIDE ON THE FIRE were sent for sampling.
