HO IN ONE began awkwardly and consequently jumped only fairly. BO BO EXPRESS was crowded for room at the start between MAC ROW which got its head on the side and shifted in away from MR GNOCCHI which itself shifted in and GLACIER BLUE which shifted out slightly. From wide barriers, TRUMP and JOLLY VICTOR were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. For some distance after the 1100 Metres, BO BO EXPRESS proved very difficult to settle and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of MAC ROW. After the 500 Metres, ABSOLUTE FANTASY was checked away from the heels of INVICTUS which at this time commenced to give ground after travelling wide and without cover throughout the race. Approaching the 200 Metres, BORN TO WIN was shifted out away from the heels of GLACIER BLUE after initially proving reluctant to shift out. Over the concluding stages, MAC ROW and TRUMP raced tight as a result of MAC ROW being shifted out away from the heels of GLORIOUS SUNDAY which shifted out slightly. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that an endoscopic examination of HO HO LIFE showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HO HO LIFE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of INVICTUS and GLACIER BLUE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GLACIER BLUE, MR GNOCCHI and GLORIOUS SUNDAY were sent for sampling.
