BIG FOUR was crowded for room at the start between ORIENTAL PROSPER and ENSEMBLE which shifted in. PEARL STAR was slow to begin. LIFELINE ELITE began very awkwardly, shifted out and in doing so bumped NOBODY BUT YOU. Shortly after the start, NOBODY BUT YOU was then steadied when crowded for room between SCRAPPER WELL and LIFELINE ELITE. Approaching the 800 Metres, ROMAN LEGEND was eased away from the heels of ENSEMBLE (O Doleuze) which shifted out when not quite clear. O Doleuze was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. In this incident, ROMAN LEGEND shifted in and bumped BUNDLE OF JOY. Then passing the 700 Metres, SKY MASCOT commenced to prove difficult to settle and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of ENSEMBLE which was steadied at this time. O Doleuze was advised to ensure that he does not steady the pace too abruptly. O Doleuze was spoken to regarding him having raised his whip arm above the height of his shoulder. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on LIFELINE ELITE at the request of Trainer A T Millard. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LIFELINE ELITE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ENSEMBLE and BUNDLE OF JOY were sent for sampling.
