JUST GOOD was slow to begin. From the outside barriers, CREATIVE UNION and FUN AND FAST were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, GOAL AND GOLD, which had commenced to be shifted across behind runners, became unbalanced when bumped by RAINBOW SEEKER which itself was taken in by PAR EXCELLENCE which began awkwardly and got its head up on a number of occasions. Passing the 800 Metres, NATURAL FLAME was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of MEGABUCKS when being shifted in to obtain a position behind that horse with cover. Rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, NATURAL FLAME got its head on the side and hung out. At the entrance to the Straight, CREATIVE UNION was shifted out across the heels of PAR EXCELLENCE to obtain clear running. ENJOY THE FUN, RAINBOW SEEKER, EMPIRE CITY and HURRY HURRY UP were sent for sampling.
