GOOD TOUCH began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped LEADER. Shortly after the start, LEADER was crowded for room and MR WUNDERBAR was checked when crowded for room inside MY PRIDE which shifted ground after being bumped by HAPPY SUNDAY on jumping. P H Lo (MY PRIDE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 800 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of TREASURE PLANET, causing that horse to be carried in, lose its rightful running and be checked and in turn caused crowding on its inside to BLUE SAINT and ABLE DANCER, both of which were steadied. P H Lo was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday 13 March 2008 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Saturday 1 March 2008. After being checked near the 800 Metres, BLUE SAINT shifted out and caused crowding on its outside to GOLDEN TREASURE which was carried out and bumped with GOOD TOUCH which in turn shifted out, causing MR WUNDERBAR and MY GOAL to be checked. ABLE DANCER made the turn at the 600 Metres awkwardly and hung out. Near the 400 Metres, BLUE SAINT became unbalanced when awkwardly placed inside GOOD TOUCH. ABLE DANCER, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of BLUE SAINT. Prior to straightening, LEADER was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of GOLDEN TREASURE. Over about the final 200 Metres, TREASURE PLANET got its head up, hung out and shifted wider on the track. For the major part of the race, CHOICE AND CHANCE hung in and proved difficult to ride in the Straight. Apprentice C W Wong (LEADER) explained his mount travelled satisfactorily throughout the race, on straightening he commenced to ride along hands and heels and ensured his mount was properly balanced. He said when LEADER commenced to respond to his riding, he then rode his mount out with his whip and it closed the race off fairly, however, was inclined to get out under pressure over the concluding stages. GOOD TOUCH, TREASURE PLANET and MY PRIDE were sent for sampling.
