On jumping, VIVA FIGHTER and GLENEALY STAR bumped. Also on jumping, FUN and THAT'S IT bumped. After this, THAT'S IT was taken across behind runners. Approaching the turn at the 1000 Metres, GANBARIA, which was laying in, and SUPER CHARGE raced tight. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, SUPER CHARGE got its head up when being steadied to avoid the heels of BUDDIES SPIRIT (G Boss) which shifted in when barely clear. When SUPER CHARGE was steadied, GANBARIA was hampered in consequence. G Boss was told to exercise care. At the 900 Metres, SIMPLY JOY became unbalanced when bumped by VIVA FIGHTER which shifted in. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, THAT'S IT was steadied away from the heels of VIVA FIGHTER which after initially shifting in shifted out. Also making the turn at the 600 Metres, GENERAL SPEEDEE was crowded for room inside GANBARIA which got its head on the side and hung in away from GLENEALY STAR. In the middle stages, FUN proved difficult to settle and raced greenly and making the Home Turn hung out. At the 150 Metres, DOUBLE LUCK was shifted wider on the track to continue improving. In the Straight, GANBARIA hung in. When questioned, Apprentice C W Wong said he had been instructed to ride the horse from the outside barrier in a rearward position and to remain on the inside and in the Straight ride the horse for luck. Prior to concluding this matter, the Stewards will interview Mr D J Hall, the trainer of PERFECT TIME who had left the course. GANBARIA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GANBARIA after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER CHARGE and DOUBLE LUCK were sent for sampling.
