After the 1200 Metres, when left racing four wide without cover, KAISER'S CHOIX was allowed to stride forward into the lead. Approaching the Home Turn, G-ONE LEADING lost ground when following NEW COMMAND which commenced to give ground. At about the 250 Metres, B Prebble (PERSEVERANCE) dropped his whip. After the 200 Metres, SUDDEN SPLENDOR became unbalanced when crowded for room between HARRY HARRY and FREEBIRD which hung out. For the major part of the race, SUDDEN SPLENDOR travelled wide and without cover. Throughout the race, FREEBIRD hung out. The performance of LAZY BUDDIES, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, LAZY BUDDIES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. KEY WINNER and G-ONE LEADING were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KEY WINNER and G-ONE LEADING after the race did not show any significant findings. PERSEVERANCE and HARRY HARRY were sent for sampling.
