HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped HARMONY AND RICH. ASTROLOGER lunged forward as the start was effected and shortly after shifted in, resulting in EASON having to be steadied. From the outside barrier, HANDSOME BO BO was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. C L Chau (ASTROLOGER) was found guilty of a charge of improper riding [Rule 100(1)] in that between the 900 Metres and the 600 Metres he improperly placed unnecessary pressure on HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE, resulting in HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE being positioned close to the heels of ROCK YA HEART and ultimately having to be checked to avoid the heels of ROCK YA HEART near the 600 Metres. C L Chau was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 3 May 2023 and to expire on Monday, 22 May 2023 on which day he may resume race riding (6 Hong Kong racedays). Approaching the 300 Metres, ROCK YA HEART attempted to improve to the outside of CAMPIONE and in doing so made contact with ATOMIC FORCE, resulting in ATOMIC FORCE becoming unbalanced. ROCK YA HEART was then shifted to the inside of CAMPIONE where it secured clear running passing the 300 Metres. After the race, ROCK YA HEART was noted to have sustained a laceration to its left hind leg. Near the 200 Metres, HARMONY AND RICH shifted out, resulting in COMPUTER PATCH being shifted out to endeavour to continue to improve to the outside of HARMONY AND RICH, causing CAMPIONE, which was commencing to give ground, to be eased away from COMPUTER PATCH. FAMILY FOLKS raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection of REWARDING TOGETHER, HANDSOME BO BO and ASTROLOGER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HARMONY AND RICH, HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE and ROCK YA HEART were sent for sampling.
