From a wide barrier, CHEERFUL DAYS was shifted across behind runners in the early stages and had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres.
MR ASCENDENCY was left racing wide and without cover after the 900 Metres.
After the race, S De Sousa (MR ASCENDENCY) stated that when his mount was placed under pressure in the Straight, it failed to respond to his riding which he attributed to today’s "Good to Firm” surface. A veterinary inspection of MR ASCENDENCY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BEAUTY ETERNAL and CALIFORNIA TEN were sent for sampling.
