GALAXY WITNESS shifted in at the start and bumped heavily with FLAGSHIP WARRIOR. BON’S A PEARLA was steadied when crowded at the start between MAJESTIC COLOUR and SUPER SUNNY SING which shifted in. From wide barriers, SINBA and LA CITY BLANCHE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. MAJESTIC COLOUR raced keenly in the early and middle stages and near the 1300 Metres was steadied away from the heels of KEEFY. ENCOUNTERED raced keenly in the middle stages and approaching the 1300 Metres was steadied away from the heels of SWORD POINT. Near the 450 Metres, ENCOUNTERED was steadied when momentarily crowded between KEEFY which shifted out slightly and BEAUTYVERSE which shifted in when commencing to give ground. SINBA was held up for clear running between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres. After the race, J McDonald (BEAUTYVERSE) reported that although his mount endured a wide run without cover for the majority of the race, when he felt that there was something amiss with BEAUTYVERSE in the Straight, he did not continue to fully test it to the finish when not in a competitive position. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTYVERSE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of BEAUTYVERSE was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTYVERSE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments. A veterinary inspection of KEEFY and SWEET ENCOUNTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER SUNNY SING and SWORD POINT were sent for sampling.
