On jumping, SMILING FACE was crowded for room between GRAND POWER which shifted in and ANONYMA which began awkwardly.
LAPUTA was slow to begin and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Also from wide barriers, SMART COUSIN, DIAMOND STAR and GREAT TIMES were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 1700 Metres, OWNERS’ STAR was steadied away from the heels of LOYAL AMBITION which shifted out.
After the 900 Metres, FORTUNE TRIPLE was shifted out and allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead, however, was then left racing wide and without cover for the remainder of the race.
After the 800 Metres, SMART COUSIN was checked away from the heels of GREAT TIMES.
Near the 700 Metres, LAPUTA was steadied away from the heels of OWNERS’ STAR which shifted to the outside of ANONYMA as that horse was awkwardly placed behind A A AGILITY. Then rounding the Home Turn, LAPUTA was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ANONYMA.
Passing the 300 Metres, OWNERS’ STAR was shifted out away from the heels of FORTUNE TRIPLE.
A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE TRIPLE, SMART COUSIN and ANONYMA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of WAH MAY LUCK immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
LOYAL AMBITION, OWNERS’ STAR and GRAND POWER were sent for sampling.
