INNO LEGEND was withdrawn on 27.6.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter SPARKY STAR (J Moreira). OVERSUBSCRIBED was also withdrawn on 27.6.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter SMART LEADER (M Chadwick). Before being allowed to race again, INNO LEGEND and OVERSUBSCRIBED will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HANDSOME VEGGIE was bumped on jumping by HAPPILY FRIENDS which shifted out away from SMART LEADER. REGENCY STAR began awkwardly, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of DRAGON KINGDOM. From the outside barriers, SPARKY STAR and DURHAM STAR were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After being ridden along in the early stages, YOUTHFUL DEAL, which was having its first race start tonight, was steadied in an attempt to obtain cover. YOUTHFUL DEAL then made the turn passing the 1000 Metres awkwardly, got its head on the side and lay out. Then approaching and passing the 900 Metres, YOUTHFUL DEAL travelled keenly and near the 800 Metres was inconvenienced by REGENCY STAR which shifted out. YOUTHFUL DEAL was then left racing wide and without cover after the 700 Metres. Near the 750 Metres, SURE JOYFUL was momentarily crowded for room inside HAPPILY FRIENDS which was taken in by HARRIER JET (C Wong). C Wong was reprimanded and told to ensure that he is properly clear of other runners when shifting ground. SPARKY STAR made the turn after the 600 Metres awkwardly and shifted out towards the heels of TAILOR MADE. In the early part of the Straight, HAPPILY FRIENDS and REGENCY STAR both lay in under pressure. Approaching the 200 Metres, TAILOR MADE was steadied away from the heels of HARRIER JET when held up behind that horse. TAILOR MADE was then shifted to the inside of HARRIER JET passing the 200 Metres in an attempt to obtain clear running, however, after the 200 Metres was again steadied when unable to improve between HARRIER JET and HANDSOME VEGGIE which, after being held up behind SUPER CLASS, was shifted to the outside of that horse as SUPER CLASS commenced to give ground. TAILOR MADE was then held up for clear running for the remainder of the race and because of this was not able to be tested. Passing the 100 Metres, HANDSOME VEGGIE raced in restricted room between HARRIER JET and SPARKY STAR which, after being held up close to the heels of HAPPILY FRIENDS, was shifted to the outside of that horse. HANDSOME VEGGIE was then steadied passing the 50 Metres when crowded for room between HARRIER JET and SPARKY STAR which, after improving to the outside of HAPPILY FRIENDS, was awkwardly placed outside the heels of that horse. Because of this, HANDSOME VEGGIE was not able to be ridden out over the concluding stages. Then close to the finishing line, HAPPILY FRIENDS shifted out and bumped SPARKY STAR. DRAGON KINGDOM and DURHAM STAR were sent for sampling.
