FAMILY FOLKS shifted in and bumped YOU’REMYEVERYTHING on jumping. KILLER INSTINCT began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped VALIANT ELEGANCE. After this, KILLER INSTINCT was steadied to obtain cover. LYRICAL MOTION (M Chadwick) began awkwardly and approaching the 1000 Metres raced tight between CLASSIC POSH and SMART IDEA. After the race, M Chadwick reported that LYRICAL MOTION, which gave ground in the Straight, did not handle tonight’s track conditions. A veterinary inspection of LYRICAL MOTION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. From the outside barriers, SUPER DOBBIN and RECIPROCATION were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. After the 1000 Metres, FAMILY FOLKS was left racing wide and without cover. SUPER DOBBIN made the turn near the 900 Metres awkwardly. Near the 450 Metres, YOU’REMYEVERYTHING got its head on the side and lay out towards the heels of LYRICAL MOTION. YOU’REMYEVERYTHING then raced tight inside LYRICAL MOTION approaching the 400 Metres. Then rounding the Home Turn, YOU’REMYEVERYTHING became unbalanced after shifting in towards the running rail. Passing the 300 Metres, NAMJONG SINGS raced tight inside DROPS OF GOD which shifted in. Close to the finishing line, CLASSIC POSH raced tight inside FAMILY FOLKS which shifted in. After the race, M F Poon stated that it was intended for WOOD ON FIRE to be ridden with cover. He said WOOD ON FIRE began better than expected and it took him some time to be able to steady WOOD ON FIRE to allow horses which were better drawn to improve their positions and obtain cover. He said when being steadied passing the 1100 Metres, WOOD ON FIRE travelled keenly, shifted in and bumped FAMILY FOLKS approaching the 1000 Metres. He said it was then not until after the 700 Metres that WOOD ON FIRE was able to obtain cover behind FAMILY FOLKS. After the race, J Moreira (DROPS OF GOD) stated that the race was run at a quicker tempo than he had hoped. He said, in his opinion, because of the fast tempo of the race in the early stages DROPS OF GOD was not able to quicken on straightening and over the concluding stages did not finish the race off. A veterinary inspection of DROPS OF GOD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of SMART IDEA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. DROPS OF GOD, YOU’REMYEVERYTHING and FAMILY FOLKS were sent for sampling.
