BEAUTY JOY was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left fore). Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY JOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CIRCUIT THREE was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, LOOKING GREAT and BEAUTY FIT brushed. CHARITY GO was steadied to obtain cover in the early stages. Passing the 300 Metres, J Moreira (BEAUTY FIT) dropped his left rein which he was able to regather a short distance later. Passing the 100 Metres, E STAR raced tight inside C P BRAVE which shifted in marginally under pressure before being corrected by its rider passing the 75 Metres. After the race, J Moreira stated that, in his opinion, BEAUTY FIT did not race disappointingly today, rather it was the circumstances of the race which resulted in the horse not being able to finish the race off as strongly as hoped. He said when the pace of the race increased passing the 500 Metres, BEAUTY FIT was not able to respond to the change in tempo and took some time to gather momentum. He said because of this horses up towards the lead were able to establish a break over BEAUTY FIT which his mount was not able to overcome. He said having regard to the circumstances of the race, he was of the opinion that BEAUTY FIT finished off the race satisfactorily over the latter stages. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY FIT immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY FIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of CHARITY GO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BEAUTY FIT, MY SUGAR and C P BRAVE were sent for sampling.
