DROPS OF GOD was withdrawn on 20.12.21 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left front leg). Before being allowed to race again, DROPS OF GOD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After being loaded, HANDSOME BO BO reared and struck the front gate with its right front leg. When this happened, HARMONY FIRE became fractious and lunged at the front gates which opened, resulting in HARMONY FIRE exiting the barrier stalls via the front gate. HARMONY FIRE was quickly pulled up, returned to the Start and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
HANDSOME BO BO was slow to begin.
From a wide barrier, GRACEFUL HEART was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Near the 900 Metres, VALIANT DREAM was awkwardly placed outside the heels of WE THE SOUTH when being steadied to obtain cover. VALIANT DREAM was then inconvenienced when momentarily crowded for room between KEEP YOU WARM and HONG KONG WIN, both of which shifted minimal ground. This resulted in VALIANT DREAM losing ground.
After the 700 Metres, KEEP YOU WARM and HONG KONG WIN raced tight and brushed, resulting in HONG KONG WIN becoming unbalanced and laying out which inconvenienced KEEP YOU WARM. KEEP YOU WARM was then steadied approaching the 600 Metres to obtain cover behind HONG KONG WIN when racing wide outside that horse.
After the 600 Metres, HONG KONG WIN was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 300 Metres, KURPANY was shifted out away from the heels of WE THE SOUTH to obtain clear running.
Passing the 100 Metres, HONG KONG WIN raced tight outside VOYAGE WARRIOR which got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure. KEEP YOU WARM, which was racing outside HONG KONG WIN, was inconvenienced in consequence.
After the race, it was reported that WE THE SOUTH had sustained an abrasion to the right hind leg.
A veterinary inspection of HANDSOME BO BO and VALIANT DREAM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
KEEP YOU WARM, WE THE SOUTH and KURPANY were sent for sampling.
