BRAVE POWER was crowded for room on jumping between NAMJONG SINGS and STUNNING IMPACT which was taken out by CARE FREE PRINCE. CHEERFUL DAYS and ENJOY LIFE bumped at the start as a result of ENJOY LIFE beginning awkwardly. From a wide barrier, PERFECT TO PLAY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. SUN OF MAKFI was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. After the 1100 Metres, HELAKU KNIGHT commenced to travel keenly when being steadied in an attempt to obtain cover. After this, HELAKU KNIGHT continued to travel keenly and near the 900 Metres was left racing wide and without cover. Approaching the 900 Metres, SUN OF MAKFI was steadied after racing in restricted room between BRAVE POWER which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of STUNNING IMPACT and CHEERFUL DAYS which was racing close to the heels of BRIGHT VISION as that horse was steadied to obtain cover. Near the 850 Metres, CARE FREE PRINCE was momentarily crowded for room inside MOMENTUM HAPPY which shifted in before being directed out abruptly to relieve the tightening to CARE FREE PRINCE. Approaching the 600 Metres, THE DRIVE was taken wider by CARE FREE PRINCE which shifted to the outside of MOMENTUM HAPPY. Rounding the Home Turn, HELAKU KNIGHT was shifted out away from the heels of BRIGHT VISION which lay out. LEADING FORTUNE was held up for clear running from approaching the 300 Metres until after the 100 Metres. After the 200 Metres, THE DRIVE, which was giving ground, was bumped by LEADING FORTUNE which shifted out abruptly away from the heels of CARE FREE PRINCE as that horse was giving ground. Z Purton (CHEERFUL DAYS) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 150 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of STUNNING IMPACT, causing that horse to be checked and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. Z Purton was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 2 December 2020 and to expire on Monday, 7 December 2020 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Purton’s good race riding record. Approaching the 100 Metres, BRIGHT VISION was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between HELAKU KNIGHT and BRAVE POWER (C Y Ho) which got its head on the side and shifted out away from THE DRIVE. C Y Ho was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Passing the 100 Metres, PERFECT TO PLAY, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was checked away from the heels of CARE FREE PRINCE as that horse continued to give ground. A veterinary inspection of CARE FREE PRINCE immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, CARE FREE PRINCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of MOMENTUM HAPPY immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MOMENTUM HAPPY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of ENJOY LIFE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. NAMJONG SINGS and CHEERFUL DAYS were sent for sampling.
