HAPPY JAI JAI shifted in at the start and bumped GRAND POWER. GRAND POWER was then crowded for room between HAPPY JAI JAI and VECTOR which was taken out by INNO LEGEND which shifted out of its own accord before being bumped and taken out further by VICTORIOUS LEADER. EASY DAZZLING began only fairly. BREEZE OF SPRING shifted out at the start and bumped SUPER RED DRAGON which became unbalanced and then shifted in. PRECISION DREAM began awkwardly. Passing the 850 Metres, BREEZE OF SPRING was awkwardly placed behind QIPAO BOSS which was steadied to obtain cover behind LITTLE THUNDER. Also passing the 850 Metres, PRECISION DREAM was left racing wide and without cover. When questioned, J Moreira stated that, unlike its last start when successful, RHAPSODY was drawn the outside barrier. He said he was instructed to be positive on RHAPSODY and obtain a forward position if possible. He said in accordance with his instructions he rode his mount along in the early stages and after shifting across to race outside LITTLE THUNDER approaching the 1000 Metres, he then had to continue to ride it forward of that horse to prevent racing unnecessarily wide. He said he was able to clear LITTLE THUNDER to race outside the lead passing the 900 Metres and when he attempted to steady RHAPSODY to sit off VECTOR, his mount would not relax and travelled too keenly in the middle stages. He said this resulted in RHAPSODY and VECTOR racing on terms after the 700 Metres. He added RHAPSODY lay in rounding the Home Turn, however, quickened satisfactorily given the amount of work it had done in the early stages. He said RHAPSODY came under heavy pressure after the 300 Metres and then continued to lay in when giving ground over the concluding stages. He said, in his opinion, the horse’s failure to finish off the race was attributable to the amount of use that he had to make on RHAPSODY and the fact that the horse was then not able to relax in the middle stages. A veterinary inspection of RHAPSODY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of PRECISION DREAM, VECTOR and EASY DAZZLING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER RED DRAGON and INNO LEGEND were sent for sampling.
