ENORMOUS HONOUR and FIRE AND GOLD made contact at the start. IMPECCABLE FELLOW began awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with CHARITY WINGS which in turn shifted out and inconvenienced GREAT JOY which was steadied. Approaching the Home Turn, THE SYLPH was awkwardly placed behind MY DEAR which came under pressure. When endeavouring to improve into tight running between IMPECCABLE FELLOW and ASSOCIATION FANS at the 250 Metres, GREAT JOY made contact with IMPECCABLE FELLOW which simultaneously received contact from FIRE AND GOLD which shifted in slightly under pressure. GREAT JOY continued to be awkwardly placed and raced tight between ASSOCIATION FANS and IMPECCABLE FELLOW until near the 200 Metres. For some distance after the 150 Metres, THE SYLPH raced tight inside ASSOCIATION FANS which got its head on the side and lay in under pressure. ASSOCIATION FANS continued to lay in in the run to the finishing line and proved difficult to ride. Following the race, S de Sousa stated that after the 1000 Metres STARLIT KNIGHT raced keenly and refused to settle. He said therefore he allowed the horse to stride forward and assume the outright lead. THE SYLPH, STARLIT KNIGHT and CHARITY WINGS were sent for sampling.
