SIXTY SIXTY shifted in at the start, resulting in BEAUTY ENERGY being crowded onto HANDSOME BO BO which became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by BEAUTY ENERGY. TIANCHI MONSTER began very awkwardly, resulting in its rider becoming unbalanced. AEROHAPPINESS began only fairly, shifted out at the start and bumped AFFLUENCE START which became unbalanced. From a wide barrier, BEST STEP was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When being steadied to obtain a position with cover, AFFLUENCE START was bumped by AEROHAPPINESS approaching the 1000 Metres as that horse shifted out when being ridden along to obtain a more forward position. Near the 950 Metres, BEST STEP and TIANCHI MONSTER bumped on a number of occasions as BEST STEP improved to be racing tight inside VIGOR FAME. VIGOR FAME was then shifted out to relieve the tightening to BEST STEP and TIANCHI MONSTER which resulted in VIGOR FAME travelling wide and without cover. After the 800 Metres, BEAUTY ENERGY was left racing wide and without cover. Passing the 300 Metres, TIANCHI MONSTER was shifted to the outside of SIXTY SIXTY when disappointed for running inside that horse. Passing the 200 Metres, SIXTY SIXTY was awkwardly placed inside HANDSOME BO BO and near the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of that horse after being disappointed for running inside HANDSOME BO BO. SIXTY SIXTY was then shifted back in abruptly to avoid causing crowding to TIANCHI MONSTER which was inconvenienced when momentarily tightened for room inside CALIFORNIA GUNGHO which was shifted out at this time to relieve the tightening to TIANCHI MONSTER. LUCKY GUY had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. A veterinary inspection of VIGOR FAME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. AEROHAPPINESS, HIGH FIVE and LUCKY GUY were sent for sampling.
