ENERGETIC CLASS was withdrawn on 23.6.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter TIANCHI MONSTER (W M Lai). Before being allowed to race again, ENERGETIC CLASS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being loaded into the barriers, MASTER ALBERT became fractious, reared and momentarily rested its front feet on the front gates. MASTER ALBERT was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, MASTER ALBERT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. BEAUTY LOYAL began only fairly and then blundered when bumped by TIANCHI MONSTER which shifted in. At this time, TIANCHI MONSTER lost its left front plate. TIANCHI MONSTER was then corrected by its rider and shifted out, resulting in HAPPY FUN being crowded for room inside LEAN PERFECTION. SWEETIE BARLEY was crowded for room on jumping between SUPER FUN and TOP SCORE, both of which shifted ground. After this, SUPER FUN was crowded for room between MASTER ALBERT and SWEETIE BARLEY which continued to race tight inside TOP SCORE. In this incident, MASTER ALBERT became unbalanced after being bumped by SUPER FUN. STYLING CITY shifted in at the start and bumped C P POWER. From the outside barrier, LEAN PERFECTION was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. Approaching the 150 Metres, TOP SCORE was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of PATCH BABY. For the majority of the race, TIANCHI MONSTER travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of STYLING CITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MIGHTY MAVERICK and LEAN PERFECTION were sent for sampling.
