As the start was effected, LUCKY GUY became fractious and lifted its front feet off the ground, resulting in the horse losing a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY GUY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. POWER OF PATCH was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, WINNING FAITH and SUPERPOWER were crowded for room between SILLY BUDDIES and GLORIOUS PARTNERS which, despite the efforts of its rider, got its head on the side and shifted away from MYTHICAL EMPEROR which shifted out. BULB ELITE was steadied shortly after the start when crowded for room between IRON BOY and FANTASTIC EIGHT, both of which shifted ground. From wide barriers, WINSTON’S LAD and HAIR TRIGGER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Throughout the race, JADE THEATRE travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that POWER OF PATCH had bled from both nostrils. A veterinary inspection of JADE THEATRE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MYTHICAL EMPEROR and FANTASTIC EIGHT were sent for sampling.
