A FAST ONE, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was crowded for room between FANTASTIC FABIO which was taken out by FLYING NOBLE and WHISTLE UP which was taken in by ZERO HEDGE. In this incident, A FAST ONE blundered. TELECOM TITAN was slow to begin. FLYING NOBLE lost its right front plate after the 900 Metres. Near the 850 Metres, after initially being directed to the outside of LUNAR ZEPHYR, ZERO HEDGE was directed back to the inside of that horse. Passing the 700 Metres, GOLDINGTON HORN was shifted away from the heels of A FAST ONE. Approaching the 300 Metres, INDIGENOUS STAR got its head on the side and shifted out. Near the 250 Metres, WINFULL PATROL lay out and raced tight inside GALLANT ROCK. GOLDINGTON HORN lost its right front plate near the 200 Metres. Passing the 200 Metres, ENJOY LIFE was shifted out away from the heels of NICE FANDANGO which was giving ground. After the 150 Metres, WINFULL PATROL raced tight outside the heels of LUNAR ZEPHYR. After the race, O Doleuze was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of NICE FANDANGO. He said the horse came under heavy pressure prior to the 500 Metres and then, despite being ridden along, weakened noticeably over the latter stages of the race. A veterinary inspection of NICE FANDANGO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ZERO HEDGE and LUNAR ZEPHYR were sent for sampling.
