REGENCY BO BO began awkwardly and was then bumped by CHUNG WAH SPIRIT which jumped in at the start. From a wide barrier, FIRST FONTEIN was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. After travelling a short distance, HAIR TRIGGER, which was being ridden along to take up a more prominent position, had to be steadied away from the heels of ALCAZAR (O Doleuze) which shifted in when not properly clear. SMART BABY, which was racing to the inside of HAIR TRIGGER, was steadied after becoming awkwardly placed near the heels of QUICK RETURN. O Doleuze was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground. SICHUAN BOSS was inclined to lay out under pressure in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of FIRST FONTEIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. REGENCY BO BO, CHUNG WAH SPIRIT and GRAND HARBOUR were sent for sampling.
