GIOVANNI BATTISTA was slow to begin. GREEN CARD began only fairly and then shortly after the start was steadied when crowded for room between ROYAL ELITE and SPICY SURE which shifted out. MISTER MONTE shifted out at the start and bumped RADIANT BUNNY which in turn was taken out onto IMPERIAL GALLANTRY. After this, both IMPERIAL GALLANTRY and RADIANT BUNNY were steadied and shifted across behind runners. Approaching the 1200 Metres, GREEN CARD raced tight inside ROYAL ELITE (O Doleuze) which shifted in. O Doleuze was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. After the 1200 Metres, MISTER MONTE proved difficult to settle and passing the 1000 Metres became unbalanced when travelling keenly. In this incident, MISTER MONTE shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of GREEN CARD. After the 900 Metres, OCULIST was left racing wide and without cover. SPICY SURE and ROYAL ELITE were held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. Near the 50 Metres, ROYAL ELITE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SPICY SURE. After the race, T H So expressed concern regarding the action of RADIANT BUNNY. A veterinary inspection of RADIANT BUNNY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings When questioned regarding the performance of DARING FIT, Z Purton stated that he was able to obtain a forward position in the early stages without having to make too much use of the horse. He said DARING FIT travelled satisfactorily in the middle stages with the tempo of the race being good and then making the Home Turn got its head on the side and lay out. He said DARING FIT came under heavy pressure in the early part of the Straight and gave ground noticeably after the 300 Metres. He said when giving ground DARING FIT shifted ground on a number of occasions. He said he was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of DARING FIT other than the horse had had a number of hard races during this campaign and that this may have had a bearing on its performance. A veterinary inspection of DARING FIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of DARING FIT, which finished last as favourite, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, DARING FIT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of GREEN CARD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. DARING FIT, HAPPY AGILITY and BIG BANG BONG were sent for sampling.
