Steward Report Predict Pace Map
MOMENTUM LUCKY shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of IRON BOY which became unbalanced. From wide barriers, PENANG HALL and GOAL FOR GOLD were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. HANG’S DECISION was also steadied in the early stages and shifted across towards the rail. Making the first turn near the 900 Metres, MORETHANLUCKY raced tight inside IRON BOY which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CALL ME AWESOME. Then making the turn after the 900 Metres, CALL ME AWESOME got its head on the side and shifted out, resulting in CHARITY GLORY, which was following, having to be steadied away from the heels of that horse. After this, CALL ME AWESOME continued to race with its head on the side and lay out and gave ground in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of CALL ME AWESOME immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, CALL ME AWESOME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the 700 Metres, MOMENTUM LUCKY got its head up when racing close to the heels of FLYING FORCE. Near the 650 Metres, CHARITY GLORY was steadied away from the heels of CALL ME AWESOME. Approaching the 600 Metres, HANG’S DECISION got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of LANG TAI SING. Over the final 100 Metres, HANG’S DECISION hung in under pressure. When questioned, B Prebble (IRON BOY) stated that his mount travelled strongly rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight he was able to shift to the outside of KING MORTAR and obtain clear running. He said after the 400 Metres IRON BOY commenced to lay out under pressure and he had to stop riding and straighten his mount on a number of occasions. He said IRON BOY continued to lay out and when HANG’S DECISION improved into tight running between KING MORTAR and IRON BOY approaching the 200 Metres, IRON BOY shifted out further away from that horse. He added IRON BOY did not finish off the race today and having in mind the manner in which it lay out under pressure, he felt that the horse may have an underlying problem. A veterinary inspection of IRON BOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, IRON BOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of GOAL FOR GOLD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HANG’S DECISION and MOMENTUM LUCKY were sent for sampling. <16/1/2017 Additional Veterinary Report>GOAL FOR GOLD, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. GOAL FOR GOLD was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P O’Sullivan yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GOAL FOR GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
