On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie fitted to SUNNY WIN was replaced. CHOICE TREASURE, which was fractious in the barriers, began only fairly and then shortly after the start was crowded for room between BIG BANG BONG and SUPER FLUKE which shifted in and brushed BIG BANG BONG. Shortly after the start, SUPER FLUKE was steadied after being crowded for room inside HAPPY SPIRIT (N Callan) which shifted in before being directed out abruptly to relieve the tightening to SUPER FLUKE. N Callan was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground. From the outside barriers, ACTUARIAT and TRAVEL DATUK were shifted across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 1000 Metres, SUNNY WIN was left racing wide and without cover and after the 800 Metres was allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead near the 600 Metres. Approaching the 900 Metres, BIG BANG BONG commenced to prove difficult to settle and was checked away from the heels of SILLY BUDDIES. HAPPY SPIRIT lost its left hind plate after the 400 Metres. At the entrance to the Straight, SILLY BUDDIES shifted out and bumped BIG BANG BONG. T H So (SUNNY WIN) was cautioned against raising his whip arm above the height of his shoulder. A veterinary inspection of BIG BANG BONG and CHOICE TREASURE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. THE SYLPH, SUNNY WIN and HAPPY SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
