YEUNG SING began only fairly. MONEY CAFE began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped RED COURAGE. MONEY CAFE consequently became unbalanced and shifted out, resulting in EL GRANDE being inconvenienced. DEMON DEMON shifted out at the start and inconvenienced HIDDEN VALUE. After this, DEMON DEMON was shifted across behind runners. Shortly after the start, MEDIC KINGDOM, which began awkwardly, was momentarily crowded for room between HIGHLAND DRAGON and GOLD TALENT, both of which shifted ground. In this incident, both MEDIC KINGDOM and GOLD TALENT became unbalanced after bumping. Making the turn approaching the 700 Metres, APOLLO CAVALIER became unbalanced. Approaching the 400 Metres, HIGHLAND DRAGON shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped CHEERS VICTORIES. Passing the 100 Metres, MEDIC KINGDOM was shifted to the inside of the heels of APOLLO CAVALIER after being disappointed for running between that horse and HIGHLAND DRAGON. Throughout the race, DEMON DEMON travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of YAT DING WIN, N Callan stated that he had been asked to lead, however, YAT DING WIN did not show sufficient speed to be able to head the eventual winner of the race APOLLO CAVALIER. He said therefore he allowed YAT DING WIN to obtain a position outside that horse and YAT DING WIN travelled well. He said he did not have to make too much use of YAT DING WIN in order to obtain this position and he was satisfied with the manner his mount was travelling in the early and middle stages. He said making the Home Turn he urged YAT DING WIN to be closer to APOLLO CAVALIER, however, YAT DING WIN did not respond and immediately came under pressure. He said despite being placed under pressure, YAT DING WIN gave ground noticeably in the Straight. He added on pulling up YAT DING WIN made an abnormal breathing noise. A veterinary inspection of YAT DING WIN immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, YAT DING WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MEDIC KINGDOM, APOLLO CAVALIER and HIGHLAND DRAGON were sent for sampling. <26/6/2014 Additional Veterinary Report>YAT DING WIN, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. YAT DING WIN was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P F Yiu this morning. He said at this time he found the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, YAT DING WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
