TRUMP and GOLDEN ADDICTION bumped heavily at the start. After ARCHIPPUS and FLYING CHAPARRAL bumped on jumping, ARCHIPPUS then got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly, resulting in JAZZY FEELING being checked when crowded for room between that horse and FLYING UNICORN after having initially raced tight outside FLYING UNICORN in the lead up to this incident. As a result of this, both ARCHIPPUS and FLYING UNICORN became badly unbalanced. From wide barriers, FIRST SIGHT LOVE and INVICTUS were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 1100 Metres, ARCHIPPUS commenced to prove very difficult to settle and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of STARTING OVER. Near the 950 Metres, ARCHIPPUS, which was hanging out, continued to prove difficult to settle and blundered badly after being checked away from the heels of STARTING OVER. After this, ARCHIPPUS continued to hang out. After the race, Z Purton, its rider, said the horse was not comfortable racing at Happy Valley for the first time tonight. A veterinary inspection of ARCHIPPUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ARCHIPPUS was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ARCHIPPUS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, INVICTUS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ARCHIPPUS which shifted out. Also making the turn after the 600 Metres, FORGIVE AND FORGET momentarily raced in restricted room inside FLYING UNICORN which got its head on the side and lay in. Near the 250 Metres, TRUMP raced in restricted room between CHANCELLOR and FLYING CHAPARRAL which shifted in slightly. Near the 50 Metres, CHANCELLOR shifted out and brushed GOLDEN ADDICTION. A veterinary inspection of STARTING OVER and STEP HIGH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GOLDEN ADDICTION, TRUMP and FORGIVE AND FORGET were sent for sampling.
