ENDOWING was withdrawn on 4.6.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inflamed left eye) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WILLIE INVICTUS (T H So). Before being allowed to race again, ENDOWING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LITTLE DREAMS and WILLIE CAZALS were slow to begin. SUNNY YING, which was leaning on the outside of its stall, began awkwardly and shortly after the start made contact with CHATER DREAM which shifted out. From wide barriers, WILLIE INVICTUS, TRAVEL BRAND and ASHKIYR were all taken across behind runners in the early stages. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, when left racing wide, NOBLE DELUXE was allowed to stride forward into the lead. Near the 1200 Metres, REAL SPECIALIST was left racing wide and without cover. Near the 1150 Metres, CHATER DREAM momentarily raced tight inside SUNNY YING which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. For some distance after the 900 Metres, WILLIE INVICTUS commenced to prove very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when being checked away from the heels of ASHKIYR. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, PACKING WHIZ momentarily raced tight inside SAME WORLD. In the early part of the Straight, REAL SPECIALIST, when commencing to give ground, got its head on the side and lay in and after the 300 Metres was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SAME WORLD. Passing the 250 Metres, WILLIE INVICTUS and WILLIE CAZALS were hampered when taken out by ASHKIYR which shifted to the outside of REAL SPECIALIST which was continuing to give ground. Also passing the 250 Metres, PACKING WHIZ was shifted in away from the heels of SAME WORLD after being momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse. Near the 100 Metres, WILLIE CAZALS got its head on the side, shifted out and in doing so made contact with WILLIE INVICTUS, causing both horses to become unbalanced. A veterinary inspection of TRAVEL BRAND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. RAINBOW CHIC and SUNNY YING were sent for sampling.
