HUMONGUS was withdrawn on 8.4.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore foot) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter LUCKY CHOICE (O Doleuze). Before being allowed to race again, HUMONGUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MOBILE KING, which was difficult to load, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again. From a wide barrier, VIVA GUY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Despite being ridden along approaching the 800 Metres, GOLD TARTINI was unable to maintain its position behind CHAMPION RANGER. MOBILE KING travelled wide and without cover until the 600 Metres. NICKU made the Home Turn awkwardly and ran wide. Near the 250 Metres, MOBILE KING was awkwardly placed outside the heels of VIVA GUY which, when commencing to give ground, shifted out after being brushed by CHAMPION RANGER. Near the 200 Metres, SECRETARY OF STATE raced tight for some distance between NICKU and MOBILE KING when attempting a run where there was insufficient room. Approaching the 100 Metres, SECRETARY OF STATE was checked when continuing to attempt to improve between NICKU and MOBILE KING which at this time shifted out abruptly away from the heels of VIVA GUY which shifted out marginally when continuing to giving ground. Close to the finishing line, JOLLY GOOD was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOLD TARTINI. A veterinary inspection of SECRETARY OF STATE and LUCKY CHOICE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FULL OF FUN and GOLD TARTINI were sent for sampling.
