MY NAME IS BOND began awkwardly. From wide barriers, STEP FASTER, ROCKET LET WIN and JOYFUL THE GREAT were taken across behind runners in the early stages. Making the turn near the 1000 Metres, MONEYMAKER got its head up when awkwardly placed inside the heels of ATACX. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, MY NAME IS BOND shifted out and bumped MONEYMAKER after racing in restricted room inside that horse leading up to this point. Approaching the 200 Metres, WITHINMYHEART was shifted to the outside of NORDIC ONE after being disappointed for running to the inside of that horse and outside SPITFIRE which was giving ground. Also approaching the 200 Metres, Z Purton (MY NAME IS BOND) dropped his right rein. Near the 150 Metres, STEP FASTER was momentarily held up for clear running behind SHARP HUNTER. Throughout the race, GOLDEN BAUHINIA travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MONEYMAKER immediately following the race revealed the horse to have bled from both nostrils. A veterinary inspection of ATACX immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. MY NAME IS BOND and SHARP HUNTER were sent for sampling.
