Prior to being loaded, the tongue tie applied to SPARKLING B was refitted. CLANCY AVENUE was crowded for room at the start between SEMPITERNAL and GOOD GOOD VIEW (W M Lai) which shifted in when being ridden along. W M Lai was reprimanded. After this, despite being ridden along, GOOD GOOD VIEW failed to muster speed. SMART BALL began awkwardly, then got its head on the side and shifted out away from CHOK CHOK and in doing so was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SEMPITERNAL for a short distance after the start. From a wide barrier, SUNNY FAY was taken across behind runners in the early stages. A veterinary inspection of THE PRINCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BRAVE BROTHER and SMART BALL were sent for sampling.
