BUDDY BUDDIES was slow to begin. IMPERIAL CONCORDE shifted in at the start and bumped SUDDEN THUNDER. After this, IMPERIAL CONCORDE was taken across behind runners. From a wide barrier, TOWERING STORM was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 900 Metres, LITTLE MEN was left racing wide and without cover. BUDDY BUDDIES was not able to obtain clear running until near the 100 Metres and because of this was not able to be properly tested. When questioned regarding the performance of KING’S PACT, J Moreira stated that after being able to obtain a nice position in the race, he had difficulty obtaining clear running on the horse in the early part of the Straight. He said although he was able to shift in and obtain a narrow run to the inside of BEAUTY JOURNEY after the 300 Metres, KING’S PACT raced tight inside that horse and it was not until after the 200 Metres that he was properly able to obtain clear running. He said, in his opinion, the horse then finished off the race satisfactorily and it did not perform as disappointingly as it may have seen. A veterinary inspection of KING’S PACT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, C O’Donoghue reported that KING OF PATCH was not comfortable in its action in the Straight. LITTLE MEN and GREEN MANNER were sent for sampling. <11/11/2013 Additional Veterinary Report>SUDDEN THUNDER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. SUDDEN THUNDER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A T Millard yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its both front legs. Before being allowed to race again, SUDDEN THUNDER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
