PLEASURE GAINS was checked shortly after the start when crowded for room between BULLISH BOY which shifted out after being brushed by SUPER STRIKE and TODOS CON SUERTE which shifted in slightly and then was taken in further after being bumped by ALWAYS SOMETHING. FOLLOW THE WIND and EMPEROR CLAUDIUS bumped at the start. Approaching the 1000 Metres, ABSOLUTE FANTASY got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BULLISH BOY. Near the 450 Metres, HO HO LIFE was crowded for rom between TODOS CON SUERTE which shifted in slightly when giving ground and COOL BEAN which shifted out. After being held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight, PLEASURE GAINS was checked passing the 300 Metres when disappointed for running between ABSOLUTE FANTASY and COOL BEAN. Near the 50 Metres, COOL BEAN was checked when crowded for room between SUPREME ESSENCE (O Doleuze) which initially shifted in and PLEASURE GAINS which, after obtaining running to the outside of BULLISH BOY, then shifted out away from that horse after being brushed on the hindquarters by COOL BEAN. O Doleuze was reprimanded and advised that whilst there was some contribution to the incident from PLEASURE GAINS by shifting out, nonetheless he would be expected to make more of an effort to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances. Throughout the race, TODOS CON SUERTE travelled wide and without cover. The performance of FOLLOW THE WIND, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FOLLOW THE WIND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PLEASURE GAINS and SUPREME ESSENCE were sent for sampling.
