After being loaded, VAJRA THRONE became fractious and broke through the front gates of its stall. VAJRA THRONE was quickly restrained, returned to the Start and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After being reloaded, VAJRA THRONE again became fractious and reared. The performance VAJRA THRONE, which subsequently finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, VAJRA THRONE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FLORA DANICA and ISLAND SPRING bumped at the start. From a wide barrier, AUSPICIOUS START, after being bumped by MONEY WIN WINS, was shifted out and then taken across behind runners. Passing the 1100 Metres, FLORA DANICA commenced to travel keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions. For some distance after the 1000 Metres, PILLOWIN travelled keenly when attempting to allow FUN FASTER to cross. Rounding the Home Turn, PILLOWIN was steadied away from the heels of FUN FASTER which commenced to give ground. Over the final 200 Metres, TELECOM TOP STAR got its head on the side and lay in under pressure. The performance of FUN FASTER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FUN FASTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned, G Mossé stated that he had been asked to ride SHAREMA FEELING behind the lead if possible in 3rd or 4th position. He said for this reason he did not shift SHAREMA FEELING across to be racing behind IDYLLIC WIND in the early stages as this would have resulted in SHAREMA FEELING being further back in the field than had been intended. He said after allowing SHAREMA FEELING to race outside IDYLLIC WIND, he expected that IDYLLIC WIND would shift in to race on the rail behind FLORA DANICA after the 1200 Metres as it was available for that horse to shift in at this stage which would have resulted in SHAREMA FEELING racing in a one-off position. He said however that when IDYLLIC WIND maintained its position, SHAREMA FEELING was obliged to race in a three wide position, however, was able to obtain cover behind FUN FASTER until passing the 700 Metres at which time that horse was able to shift in to race outside the lead. After the race, Z Purton reported that ISLAND SPRING did not feel comfortable in its action at any stage of the race and would not stretch out. A veterinary inspection of ISLAND SPRING immediately following the race revealed the horse to be lame in its right front leg and to have lost its right front plate, however, it was unable to be scoped. Before being allowed to race again, ISLAND SPRING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. IDYLLIC WIND and SHAREMA FEELING were sent for sampling.
