Just prior to the start, ONE OF A KIND became fractious and as the start was effected was slow to begin. CULTURAL CITY began very awkwardly, shifted out and made heavy contact with RIDE WITH THE WIND which was crowded for room inside SUPERNINSKY. From the outside barrier, THE UNTOUCHABLELAD was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, CIRCUIT STAR failed to muster speed. Passing the 1300 Metres, SUPERNINSKY got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of ENTHUSING and in doing so shifted out and bumped YUE LU TREASURE. CULTURAL CITY, which was following SUPERNINSKY, shifted out slightly when awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse. CIRCUIT STAR, which was following CULTURAL CITY, then improved its position to be racing tight inside CULTURAL CITY and passing the 1200 Metres was steadied when unable to maintain its position inside that horse. After the 1100 Metres, SUPERNINSKY got its head up when again racing close to the heels of ENTHUSING. Also after the 1100 Metres, HORSE APLENTY commenced to prove difficult to settle. NOBLE DE BEST, which was following, shifted out away from the heels of that horse, resulting in RIDE WITH THE WIND being taken wider. Approaching the 900 Metres, HORSE APLENTY shifted out away from the heels of YUE LU TREASURE when racing keenly and consequently was left racing wide and without cover. Passing the 900 Metres, SUPERNINSKY and NOBLE DE BEST raced tight when SUPERNINSKY shifted out away from the heels of ENTHUSING. CULTURAL CITY, which was following SUPERNINSKY, was hampered in consequence and CIRCUIT STAR, which was following CULTURAL CITY, was checked away from the heels of that horse and shifted out. For a considerable distance after the 900 Metres, ONE OF A KIND proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of runners in front. Approaching the 600 Metres, NOBLE DE BEST was checked away from the heels of SUPERNINSKY. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, CIRCUIT STAR got its head up when being checked away from the heels of CULTURAL CITY. Rounding the Home Turn, BLOSSOM DAILY shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of YUE LU TREASURE. At the entrance to the Straight, CULTURAL CITY was shifted in away from the heels of ENTHUSING. Passing the 300 Metres, HORSE APLENTY shifted in and bumped NOBLE DE BEST. Passing the 200 Metres, NOBLE DE BEST and HORSE APLENTY again bumped. A short distance later, NOBLE DE BEST momentarily raced tight between HORSE APLENTY and ENTHUSING which shifted out. Over the concluding stages, CIRCUIT STAR raced in restricted room between CULTURAL CITY and ENTHUSING. A veterinary inspection of CIRCUIT STAR and ONE OF A KIND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. CIRCUIT STAR, SUPERNINSKY and YUE LU TREASURE were sent for sampling.
