WINDICATOR STAR began awkwardly and lost ground. VOILE ROUGE began awkwardly and shortly after the start was bumped by BOULD MOVER which shifted in. From wide barriers, MASQUERADER, STERLING CITY and KING OF PATCH were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Approaching the 1000 Metres, VOILE ROUGE got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of RICH UNICORN which shifted in when barely clear. After this, RICH UNICORN commenced to over-race and got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of CAPE CANAVERAL. RICH UNICORN continued to prove very difficult to settle and near the 900 Metres shifted out when being checked away from the heels of CAPE CANAVERAL and in doing so took TOUCH GO wider. TOUCH GO was then allowed to stride forward but continued to race wide and without cover. After this, RICH UNICORN continued to prove very difficult to settle, got its head on the side and hung out. The racing manners of RICH UNICORN were considerable unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, RICH UNICORN will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. Near the 850 Metres, KING OF PATCH was awkwardly placed close to the heels of VOILE ROUGE. Also near the 850 Metres, LORD SINCLAIR was bumped by CAPE CANAVERAL which shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of BOULD MOVER. Near the 250 Metres, LORD SINCLAIR was steadied away from the heels of BOULD MOVER (G Mossé) which shifted out under pressure. G Mossé was severely reprimanded and advised that he must take sufficient measures to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances. After this, LORD SINCLAIR was shifted to the inside of BOULD MOVER to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, LORD SINCLAIR travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MASQUERADER after the race did not show any significant findings. WINDICATOR STAR and COSMIC BOOM were sent for sampling. <18/2/2013 Additional Veterinary Report> After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on PIZZAZZ at the request of Trainer P O’Sullivan. The Veterinary Surgeon said that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, PIZZAZZ will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
