Steward Report Predict Pace Map
YOUNG SUPREME was steadied when crowded for room at the start between BESPOKE MASTER which shifted out and MEGA CASTLE which was taken in by SMART FORTUNE. SILENT DEMAND shifted in at the start and inconvenienced KUNG HEI FAT CHOI. A short distance later, SILENT DEMAND shifted out abruptly. From the outside barrier, DAILY DOUBLE was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 1600 Metres, YOUNG SUPREME became unbalanced after being bumped by WHITE HART KING (Z Purton) which shifted in. Z Purton was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. When WHITE HART KING was shifted out to relieve the pressure to YOUNG SUPREME, EUPHEMISM was steadied away from the heels of that horse in consequence. Passing the 1600 Metres, WHITE HART KING shifted in and bumped YOUNG SUPREME which was then awkwardly placed close to the heels of KUNG HEI FAT CHOI. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, YOUNG SUPREME and WHITE HART KING raced tight on a number of occasions due to WHITE HART KING shifting in slightly and YOUNG SUPREME commencing to prove difficult to settle and being checked away from the heels of KUNG HEI FAT CHOI. Near the 1400 Metres, M L Yeung’s (YOUNG SUPREME) saddle shifted forward significantly, resulting in him being very awkwardly placed close to the heels of KUNG HEI FAT CHOI for some distance thereafter and which resulted in him being placed at a significant disadvantage for the remainder of the race. Then near the 1000 Metres, due to its rider experiencing significant difficulties due to his saddle shifting forward, YOUNG SUPREME was taken out away from runners and improved its position to race outside the leader, DYNAMIC CROSS. After the 1200 Metres, BESPOKE MASTER got its head up on a number of occasions when being checked away from the heels of SMART FORTUNE. When being checked away from the heels of SMART FORTUNE, BESPOKE MASTER shifted in, resulting in KUNG HEI FAT CHOI being crowded for room. YOUNG SUPREME, which was following, and with its rider continuing to experience significant difficulties due to the saddle having shifted forward, was severely checked away from the heels of KUNG HEI FAT CHOI in consequence. Near the 900 Metres, WHITE HART KING was steadied away from the heels of MEGA CASTLE. Approaching the 200 Metres, DAILY DOUBLE was shifted in away from the heels of KUNG HEI FAT CHOI. T H So (SMART FORTUNE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 100 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of BESPOKE MASTER, causing that horse to be badly hampered and in turn taken across the rightful running of KUNG HEI FAT CHOI which as a result was severely checked and also lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled. T H So was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on 18 February 2013 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley racemeeting on Wednesday, 6 February 2013. In addition, T H So was fined $25,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating 1 further raceday. Approaching the 50 Metres, MEGA CASTLE got its head on the side, shifted in and bumped SMART FORTUNE. Also approaching the 50 Metres, SILENT DEMAND, which was giving ground, was checked when crowded for room inside SPICY SIAM which was taken in by DAILY DOUBLE (H W Lai) which shifted in abruptly when struck with the whip. As the Stewards were satisfied that H W Lai had taken appropriate corrective measures to straighten DAILY DOUBLE, no further action was taken. A veterinary inspection of WHITE HART KING after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, WHITE HART KING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of DAILY DOUBLE after the race did not show any significant findings. YOUNG SUPREME, DYNAMIC CROSS and EUPHEMISM were sent for sampling. <24/1/2013 Additional Veterinary Report>WHITE HART KING, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer.
