BOLD TACK and TELECOM TOP STAR bumped at the start. Shortly after the start, SUNSEEKER was crowded for room between LOVING ALL and VICTORY IDE SAY which was taken out by MEGA POSH which in turn was taken out by MONEY WIN WINS which got its head on the side and shifted out. From a wide barrier, SMART GUY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, GORGEOUS LIFE, which began awkwardly, was slow to muster speed. After the 800 Metres, VICTORY IDE SAY was left racing wide and without cover. Also after the 800 Metres, LUCKY ARMY got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of MEGA POSH. Approaching the 600 Metres, LUCKY ARMY again got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle. At the entrance to the Straight, SMART GUY and MEGA POSH raced tight outside VICTORY IDE SAY which was taken out by LOVING ALL which shifted out. After this, MEGA POSH continued to race tight between SMART GUY and VICTORY IDE SAY and after the 400 Metres was steadied. SUNSEEKER, which was following, was steadied in consequence and shifted out to obtain clear running. TELECOM TOP STAR had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Passing the 200 Metres, KING OF FISH II, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied when momentarily crowded for room between NEWSWIRE TOO and TELECOM TOP STAR which shifted out when obtaining tight running between KING OF FISH II and BOLD TACK. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of MEGA POSH, Z Purton stated that he was able to obtain a good position in advance of midfield after racing tight between runners shortly after the start. He said he was able to shift out to a position following VICTORY IDE SAY in the middle stages and because of this was able to improve into the race nicely. He added however that although MEGA POSH raced tight rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, the horse was again disappointing today in its failure to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of MEGA POSH after the race did not show any significant findings. MEGA POSH, TELECOM TOP STAR and LUCKY ARMY were sent for sampling.
