FUN RIDER was slow to begin. Near the 1600 Metres, GENKI TWINS and WITHINMYHEART raced tight inside SATIRICAL BOY which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of ENABLING. Near the 100 Metres, ENABLING shifted out and bumped MR BOND. Throughout the race, SATIRICAL BOY travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of SATIRICAL BOY after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SATIRICAL BOY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SATIRICAL BOY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. T Queally (MR BOND) was warned against the practice of raising his whip arm above shoulder height. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of ENABLING, D Whyte stated that the horse travelled comfortably in the lead without any pressure having to be applied to the horse. He said having in mind the run that ENABLING had enjoyed throughout the race, he expected the horse to respond strongly to his riding when placed under pressure rounding the Home Turn. He said however that ENABLING did not show any turn of foot and immediately came under pressure and SAME WORLD was able to quickly improve its position around ENABLING at the entrance to the Straight. He added that when placed under pressure in the Straight, ENABLING shifted ground on a number of occasions and, in his opinion, was very disappointing. He said he was not able to offer any explanation for the horse’s poor run. A veterinary inspection of ENABLING after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of PERCY JACKSON after the race did not show any significant findings. VICTOR DELIGHT and SAME WORLD were sent for sampling.
