KING OF WINE was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, DANZULU was steadied when crowded for room between MOCHI and ALL BOUNTIFUL which got its head on the side and shifted out. From the outside barrier, GOLD TARTINI was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 900 Metres, ALL MY KINGDOMS (W C Marwing) was left racing wide and without cover. After the race, W C Marwing reported that ALL MY KINGDOMS was inclined to lay out throughout the race. Passing the 300 Metres, ALL MY KINGDOMS was momentarily steadied when crowded for room between GOLD TARTINI and DANZULU, both of which shifted ground. In the Straight, CRAIG’S PRIDE got its head on the side and hung out. A Suborics (WINNING INSTINCT) was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels all the way to the finish where circumstances permit. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that CHAMPION MOUNT had lost its left front plate. A veterinary inspection of CRAIG’S PRIDE and WINNING INSTINCT after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of ALL BOUNTIFUL after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. ALL BOUNTIFUL, BLOSSOM DAILY and PANTHER RUN were sent for sampling.
