BEST NOODLE was withdrawn on 16.10.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter SAMMY’S FORTUNE (C W Wong). Before being allowed to race again, BEST NOODLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BLESSING WIN and RAINBOW SEEKER bumped at the start. SAMMY’S FORTUNE was slow to begin and then shortly after the start became detached from the field and finished tailed out. The performance of SAMMY’S FORTUNE was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SAMMY’ FORTUNE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. From the outside barrier, PRECISION MAGIC was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. After the 900 Metres, GORGEOUS RULER was left racing wide and without cover. Near the 600 Metres, REDOUTE’S FORTUNE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of STORM’S DESTINY. Near the 400 Metres, MR SPEEDY, which was giving ground abruptly, became unbalanced when momentarily crowded for room inside ICE FIRE which itself was racing tight inside REDOUTE’S FORTUNE. In the early part of the Straight, PRECISION MAGIC, which had its head on the side and was laying in, was awkwardly placed outside the heels of DAILY DOUBLE which shifted out. Near the 300 Metres, RAINBOW SEEKER raced in restricted room between STORM’S DESTINY and GORGEOUS RULER which shifted in marginally. Passing the 200 Metres, ICE FIRE raced tight inside REDOUTE’S FORTUNE. The performances of MR SPEEDY and TELECOM NEW STAR, which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MR SPEEDY and TELECOM NEW STAR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that BLESSING WIN was found to be lame in the right front leg and that MR SPEEDY had lost its left front plate. Before being allowed to race again, BLESSING WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Also after the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on NICKU at the request of Trainer A Lee. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, NICKU will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of RAINBOW SEEKER and SAMMY’S FORTUNE after the race did not show any significant findings. BLESSING WIN and GORGEOUS RULER were sent for sampling.
