TOY STORY began awkwardly. As the start was effected, PROSPERITY and IRON EAGLE lifted their front feet off the ground and began awkwardly. Over the concluding stages, ISLAND HAWK shifted out under pressure, resulting in SUPER BOBO being inconvenienced. Also over the concluding stages, MOON CHASER raced close to the heels of FERRABOSCO which shifted out under pressure. Close to the finishing line, the whip of A Suborics (FOLLOW THE WIND) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of T Angland (FERRABOSCO). Throughout the race, PROSPERITY travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of BURGUNDY MAC, B Prebble stated that at no stage of today’s race did the horse travel well and, in his opinion, was reluctant to stretch out when placed under pressure. A veterinary inspection of BURGUNDY MAC, IRON EAGLE and PROSPERITY after the race did not show any significant findings. BURGUNDY MAC, IRON HAWK and FERRABOSCO were sent for sampling.
